I bought a $A77 ticket to Bali last month with Air Asia using a Mastercard. After hitting the Confirm button, a message popped up saying the process may take a few minutes and advised me not to touch the keyboard. Then a itinerary page popped up with a booking number.
About 15 hours later, a confirmation itinerary appeared in my inbox with payment details.
If you have not received the confirmation itinerary after one day, I think you should try again.
When bookings are heavy, the website stops working. You need patience to use the backspace arrow in the top left hand corner and go back to a page that works and start from there again. Eventually, you will get a ticket.
The Air Asia website is poor software. I suggest that you print out the confirmation itinerary and take it with you on your trip and do not delete the confirmation itinerary from your inbox. Frequently, the website will not recognise your booking number.
However, in my experience, the Air Asia ground staff always honour a hard copy of the confirmation itinerary, even when the website does not recognise your booking number.
