If you're going to hire a motorbike/scooter in Bali. You need to ensure you have an international licence with it endorsed to ride a motorbike. In otherwords, you need to have a current motorbike licence in Australia for your international licence to be endorsed to ride the bike.

You can take the risk and get a local licence, but you would not be covered by insurance.

Almost all travel insurance policies will cover you to ride a motorbike no more than 200cc's ONLY if you're legally able to ride it. (having that intl lic with bike endorsement)

You can't get an international licence endorsed for a bike if you're on your L plates in Oz. P's and restrictions YES, but L's NO.

You can get the intl lic at RACV or equivilant in other states for around 40 bucks (If they need to take a pic) or 30 if you have your own passport size pic.

Hope that's enough info for ya.

Cheers

Lisa
