OK many will disagree. 12 years ago we stayed in Kuta and were utterly shocked by the Aussie tourists staying at the hotel. They seemed to stand in te pool drinking bintang from 11 am till 5pm, probaly pissing it out before going out on the town. Had 5 sporting clubs on their end of season binge. My wife swore we would never visit Bali again. 2007 ago persuaded her to go to Sanur and we both loved it. 2008 and 2009 in Sanur, Lovina and Candidasa. We both enjoyed all.
My advice is if you want to avoid yobbos (Aussie or otherwise) avoid the Kuta strip.
