We are off to Bali in August with our baby who will be 7 1/2 months when we go. We took her to Thailand with us in April when she was 3 months old and had such a good time that we are off again. I recommend taking lots of sealable plastic bags to store bits and pieces in (dummies, containers etc). Get a good insect repelant but speak to a Dr or pharmacist first, same with the sunscreen. A good light weight stroller that lays back would also come in handy. Take your own nappies. As for a hotel and airline, just book what would appeal to you, I don't think that it will make that much of a difference for the baby, the previous suggestion for a ground floor room is a good one. Don't expect to do too much in a day (we did a lot more at night when it was cooler). Have fun.
