We booked through our driver as he was able to get us a good price.
We also hired him for the day to drive us there in the comfort of his nice vehicle as opposed to using the pickup sevice of Bali International Rafting. This allowed us to do some sightseeing at the end of the day. The prices available seem to vary a bit. The BIR web page is listed as US$55 adult and 40 for kids. Our driver was able to do a deal for IDR 325K (aboutUS$32)each, even cheaper for more than four people. Although we paid extra for him to drive us. He was also given the lunch at the end. I am not sure if he was also getting commision. Good on him if he was. I am sure you would be able to get a good price from one of the many tourist booths around Kuta/Legian. One handy hint, take some sandals (not thongs) or sneakers to protect your feet from the pebbles and stones when getting in and out of the raft. You may do this a few times. I still laugh when I remember one guy from another raft hobbling through the shallows on one thong after watching the other one float down the river. I rate our day on the river as the best of the twelve that we spent there in June followed closely by Quad Biking and Waterbom Park. Enjoy.
