choose a shipping company (Rim cargo as above are good), then once you are sorted with them, get a bunch of their cards and go shopping with a reliable driver who is on your side.
You choose your stuff at the shops/manufacturers, pay a deposit and give them your shipping companies card.

Take the invoice and the balance of payment back to your shipping company. (keep a copy of invoice for yourself)

They will phone the shipping company when the stuff is ready to be picked up- your shipping company will go and check the goods and pick them up and re-pack them for the container.

and that, briefly, is how it pretty much works... :) Not as hard as some people make it out to be :) Be careful about what you buy though- know what you are and aren't allowed back through customs. Check all wood for bora etc, make sure the timber is kiln dried before being made into furniture otherwise it may crack when it gets to you. Check joins and workmanship carefully.
