We only have three kids, but get the idea of not wanting to take too many taxis.
We have previously stayed at Tuban and the location is good, plenty of kid friendly restaurants and an easy walk to Kartika Plaza, Kuta Square and the beach, BUT, this year we stayed in Legian at Private Apartments in the grounds of JAYAKARTA HOTEL. It is right on the beach, three large pools, close to great restaurants (on beach on the road), plus shops.
The value for money is superior to Dynasty, plus you have the spacious apartments. We stayed in a three bedroom on the 5th floor. It had three bedrooms (bunk bed and two singles in one), two singles in another and a double in another. It had two bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, dining and lounge room, plus balconies. It had satellite TV and was immaculate. It is owned by NZ owners, you can check out their web site at www.puketoki.com. It cost around the $170 AUD per night, and was really good value. It would easily fit your group and they do provide cots.
You can walk through the well maintained gardens to the pools and beach. It is really easy. We loved it. It does not have the great kids club like Dynasty, although there is a kids playground and kids pools. Personally we found Dynasty noisy and crowded. Any questions, just ask.
