Have been here nearly a week...used Hadi (already had 60 day visa) as I had a very long trip from my regional airline to Sydney to Singapore to Bali and wanted to get through asap. Met immediately, whipped through. Hadi waiting out the front and as I was not feeling terrific...Hadi and his wife drove me to Sanur at no charge and has been very helpful in a number of matters.
Also ..I have used a driver Gede whom I have known for four years and used him a few times in the past when he drove for someone else..now he is the proud owner of his own car and I went out with him for the day yesterday...how wonderful to have someone speaking perfect English..following me around picking up parcels , arranging payments etc..making sure I was hydrated regularly as had bad fever yesterday and it was better than a partner...no whingeing, stop and start as much as I liked. My friends and I are using him for three day visit to Lovina and as he is from Singaraja..he will stay with family and just be on call. Wish I had this at home. Also if you are thinking of hiring a car during the local holiday season and want to drive in and around Legian/Kuta area any time after 10 a.m. ..DONT.. I have never known the traffic this bad. Having said that..having wonderful time catching up with local friends..
