We never travel using a credit card,Have always paid cash anywhere,
I have never had a problem,even when the hotel asks for a credit card to swipe, when first arriving,just tell them you do not have one,they will ask for a cash deposit that will be returned to you at the end of your stay
If by chance we find ourselves spending more than the deposit left for instance.around the pool on drinks etc.the hotel will let you know,then it is just a case of giving them a little more
This way there is know worry of some one stealing your identification or personal details
Even better your money is a lot safer
