A villa is a spacious leisure home offering at least two but mostly 3 to 6 bedrooms with their private bathrooms, large living and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen, a tropical garden with private swimming pool and serviced by full-time and well-trained staff including a private butler, chef, maids, house boys, gardeners, security guards etc.

It's very misleading what you find nowadays offered as as "villa" in Bali -- often these are down-market dwellings which were called cottages a few years back.

Therefore, be careful before you make a booking and check what you get for your money! A "real" villa will cost at least US$250 to US$350 and more PER BEDROOM PER NIGHT!

But this is still a bargain compared to good hotels as that rate includes many services which make a hotel stay much more expensive.
