You just needed to order their lunch from the kids menu if they are in the Kids Club for a full day. They will just add it to your room bill. One day 'Wayan Lachlan' got to go to the staff lunch area and eat Nasi Goreng with them as he was the only child in Kids Club that day - and he had a ball. They asked for our permission of course. Hopefully Emelda is still there. She is just wonderful. They have younger girls working their too, but Emelda was a real 'Mum' and Lachlan loved her.
Lachlan did seem to be the oldest child there (9) on a number of occasions. They tend to have more fun when they have kids their own age around. How old are your kids?
One day they dressed Lachlan up in the traditional attire and he went with them to their temple at the front of the hotel to do the daily offerings. He got right into it all. Even though we are Christian, I loved the way he respected their beliefs and was so open to other cultures and experiences. He looked just gorgeous and took it so seriously. I loved the fact that they gave him that opportunity. Brilliant photo memories for us to look back on.
The pool attendants are great with the kids too and will happily grab some pool equipment / balls and entertain the kids while you watch on. Once you are in the water they assume that you are a big kids too and get you involved in whatever game they are playing. Great family atmosphere - although I assume part of it depends on how friendly and willing to be entertained you are. They seem to know who wants fun and who is just after a few quiet moments in the sun.
The last few Bali visits, due to cost, we have stayed in other hotels (which have their own good points) but we do miss the Novotel Nusa Dua!!
