When Ozjet and Indojet Asia Pty Ltd applied for a license to fly to Bali they put this in their application to the Australian Govt.why consumer would be protected:
Consumer Protection.
A structure has been implemented with credit card merchant providers to ensure that all consumers are
protected against any financial loss. All travel sold directly by IndoJet Asia Pty Ltd is restricted to credit
card payments. The financial institution providing merchant facilities requires a security amount or will
hold all unutilized credit card funds until the associated travel has been completed before releasing
funds to IndoJet Asia.
IndoJet Asia holds a Travel Agents Licence in its own right and customer transactions are traditionally
protected by the Travel Compensation Fund (TCF). IndoJet Asia also sell tickets employing licenced
travel wholesalers through the provision of a trading account. Travel wholesaler transactions are again
protected by the TCF
So if you don't fly contact your credit card compaany for a refund otherwise put the presure on Indojet.
It is about time Indojet stop taking bookings however on their site you still make a booking.
It is also time that Consumer Affairs get involved.
