The boys have gone fishing today.
Matt's decided that he just has to get out and do something before we go back home in a couple of days. He and Leon both love their fishing and booked a last minute charter yesterday afternoon.
Did I want to come too? Ah! No thanks guys, I might just have an easy day...laze around a bit.
I'm really starting to like Sanur, especially after experiencing the complete opposite yesterday on 'the other side'. There are people on this forum who affectionately refer to this side of the island as S'nore and I can understand why, but I love the pace here...nice and easy...like it should be on holiday.

After a leisurely lunch at La Taverna's beachfront restaurant Isola, we go for a massage at Ayu Spa, then walk leisurely back along the beach promenade to the Respati.
The boys are back. They sound a bit dissapointed as they only caught the one tuna between them, but are glad they went.

We still haven't seen the famous Kuta sunset yet so we're off to Sammi and Suzi's on Legian Beach, the designated get-together place for Bali Travel Forumites for quite some time now. Sammi reckons he's been dragging eskies full of beer down to this spot for well over 20 years.
We hire a driver called Made to drive us there, just for sunset, and then take us back to Sanur.
I could feel the excitement slowly rising as we inch our way through the traffic, down Jalan Pantai Kuta, past Kuta Square and the Hard Rock, towards this beach famous all over the world for its surf and sunset parties.
And then there it was!......a truly magnificent stretch of golden sand as far as the eye could see...big surf waves crashing in.
Thousands of people here for the daily sundown ritual, drinking, laughing and relaxing.

At Sammi and Suzi's we quickly find Chrissy and Andrew amongst about 30-35 people. I ask who else is here from the Forum, only DennisC and I introduce myself. Apparently it's not just for BTF anymore.
I tell him about standing up BloodyRon, "Yeah I reckon I might have heard something about that" he says... "Really?" I ask. Sh!t, he's probably got a contract out on me. "He's not here is he?", looking around nervously. Hmm, I'm going to have to track him down before I leave Bali.

We take heaps of sunset photos whilst drinking cold bintangs and listening to some colourful local guitarist/harmonica player called Charlie Tango who serenades all our girls with Rod Stewart's "Have I told you lately, that I love you...Bianca/Danielle/Mary", then promptly passes the hat around. Beach sellers hassle us with large cases full of watches and sunglasses.
We have a lot of fun and are sorry to leave. Have to get back to Matt.

Dinner that night is at a highly recommended little restaurant in Sanur off the main drag called Kayu Manis Cafe. There's only about 6 or 7 tables and they're all full.
Can we wait 5 minutes? just as a table is paying their bill.

KAYU MANIS
sm bintang, 2 aquas, beef carpaccio entree, penne vongole main (they run out of vongole and sub it with mussels, without asking...but still tastes fantastic), osso bucco 'my way' (excellent) and we share a tartufo...Rp264,000 inclusive. Very good value and very good food.
The best meal we've had in Sanur.
