to the views held by the Balinese and the Australian Government.
If any of you read the article in The Australian yesterday there are quite powerful forces who want the park to go ahead, including Kuta Village, the Regency, Governor Pastika and the Australian Government.
" The DFAT official said. The Australian Government continues to encourage development of the former Sari Club in a manner appropriate to the memory of the victims of the bombing."
The Australian Consul had a meeting with Governor Pastika on the subject last week which he described as " positive."
Plans for a museum at the rear and gardens at the front have been drawn by Made Wijaya ( Australian Michael White) in a sympathetic way.
The plan is for the land to be purchased by money raised in Australia with a sufficiently funded foundation so the local NGO who has agreed to administer the park and museum will have the funds to keep it pristine.
The straw poll so far is 20% of respondents against the idea and one for, providing it isn't on the SC site.
