Hi Janine,
I've been staying at Swastika since 1990 and never stay anywhere else while in Sanur! Great value for money, beutiful gardens and exceptionally well located next to shops, restaurants and the one of the main supermarkets in Sanur.
I'm also not sure about interconnecting rooms, but the main room configuration is one up, one down in a bungalow style, so in that sense, I guess they are!
The rooms all have a TV and fridge, are very large if very sparsely decorated. It's a budget hotel and doesn't promise to be anything else, but the staff are wonderful and I think you would enjoy your stay if you're not too fussed about things not being hospital clean!
You may find a few different coloured tiles in the bathroom as a patch up, but who cares! You'll be out of the room most of the day anyway... the two pools are both lovely and the beach / boardwalk is a short walk away down a laneway.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay there if I was on a budget, but still wanted a great location, friendly staff and home-like Bali experience. Enjoy!
