since you 'might' be staying at Santika and dont really want to rock up there with negative reception staff, why dont you email santika back and tell them the offer that Balihotels has now given, you never know they may just match the new cheaper rate, at least you are not giving balihotels the rate that santika gave you but now in reverse!
Would be interesting to see what they say then lol....good luck, understand you not wanting to stay out of principle but if you can get it at a good rate, go for it heheh...let us know what happens..cheers Trace
