They were genuinely happy to do it.
On the first morning in my room at Tegal Sari I left a small tip with a note saying thankyou for taking care of my room......when I got back it was still there.
I think it is an Ubud standard to offer hotel guests and even restaurant patrons free transport to and from.I saw this in Sanur as well,although not as much as in Ubud.
They really are happy to do it and see it as another way to look after the guest.
Mind you,they're chatty little blighters when they've got you in the van.
