I have travelled several times with Garuda and taken stuff over for the balinese. I have contacted Garuda a couple of weeks before my departure and requested extra luggage allowance. There has been 4-6 of us travelling together and they have allowed 5 kgs extra each. I have not tried this with the other airlines so I do not know if they would do the same.
