kuta area info

Hi everyone,
I've booked for 12 days at the Matahari Bungalows,
my problem is that i've never stayed in this area before.
Can anyone give me any advice on good places to eat, fixed price shopping, ( i'm over haggling ).Taking kids this time so i guess they will want the usual stuff that teenagers are after.Any info would be great to give me a head start for the first few days.
