We too had a similar experience at melbourne airport with the wheelchair assistance,my mother has a back problem and needed to be wheeled with care not to bump into anything, the quantas women couldnt have cared less, she too refused to stop at duty free saying wheelchair passengers arent allowed to go there(um discrimination) Lucky there was 4 of us travelling so we could still go there she claimed going to duty free holds them up!!!
She wheeled my mum to a spot near the baggage carousel that was in the way of everyone consequently another person bumped into her and sent pain up her spine, when we collected the bags i asked to wheel her the rest of the way and she refused to let me.mum said that while she was waiting the quantas women was complaining about some other passengers that she had previously wheeled through who she claimed were only in wheelchairs due to their weight and that they should do something about it!mum was disgusted but didnt tell me any of this till afterwards as she knew how id react!
So anyway my point is i understand how you feel and you have every right to be angry,i didnt make a complaint as i didnt get the womens name and figured it wouldn't make a difference but its obviously still happening.Be interesting if it was the same women!?!sure sounds like it!
