Just got back from 3 weeks in Bali, me hubby and 2 kids aged 4 and 8. We had a ball and are already planning the next trip. Not a day to day account just some notes for info.
FLIGHTS went jetstar and was surprised couldnt fault them, on time both ways and very efficient we made it out of airport in bali in about 15 minutes........
SHOPPING found there was so much more than last year to buy and much cheaper than Perth, mainly supermarket items. Went to Geneva and you could spend a few hours in that place......The factory outlets were great for guys clothes and kids surf wear.
PANDORA for those looking they are everywhere, with sellers telling you they are the real ones!!!!Found a great little place in Legion called Silver Berry and they had a lovely range of silver at good prices and you could shop in comfort.
MEALS ate everywhere and never had a bad meal, kids ate everything including the indonesian food and enjoyed it. Had a birthday party for my 4 year old at Bubba Gumps which was pricey but they made his night very special and good fun was had by the whole group. None of us got sick at anytime and the only precaution was the kids drank yakult everyday.
HOTEL Bgh was great as usual and yes the rooms are tired they did start to renovate the family rooms while we were there dont know about the other rooms but the hotel was full. The staff and the outlook to the beach front make up for the tired rooms. If you are there spend some time with the sellers on the beach at Bgh they are a great bunch of girls and guys who will sit and chat (especially Dodo the icecream man!)
ROTARY SPONSORSHIP Earlier in the year we sponsored a boy through this program and were lucky enough to be able to go and visit him at the school. It was a wonderful morning with my boys playing with the school kids and we played a bit of cricket. They do a fantastic job and my kids were amazed to see how happy these kids were with the little they had. It was good to see where the money goes and meet the teachers. We all enjoyed the visit.
BALI SAFARI stayed overnight as a treat for the kids and it was fantastic. The 5 star service was great and we had room 221 which overlooked the pool and the animals, the rhino was being fed right outside our bedroom window. It was the 2nd time we had been to the park so we did it quickly but the kids still enjoyed the safari ride and playing with the animals.
BALIAN spent a night here what a great spot. Not much to do though unless you surf as it is located right on the beach but also good for chilling out and getting away from the busy side as there are no shops and only a few villa stays and warungs.
SUMMARY another fantastic trip to Bali and will be back again next year. My 8 year old cried when the plane took off as he didnt want to leave.
