This visa is a B211 & includes tourist or social visit purposes etc.
It is issued for an initial 60 days then can be renewed.

Initially if you state on applying it is a social visit you need a letter from an Indonesian sponsor.
For tourist purposes you do not.

The visa does not state purpose of visit..just 211 & 60 days.

Therefore you can officially extend the tourist purpose visa as you can the social purpose visa.
Fingerprints & passport required for one of the later renewals & you must go to the immigration office.

When extending those whose stated reason for visit as tourism often use an agent to do so.

"2. Visitor Visa (Single Entry)

Not valid for employment purpose.

Type of Visa: B Index Number: 211

1. Complete and sign the application form

2. Passport must be valid for for at least 12 months from the date of entry

3. For a business visit, a sponsor letter from the company / organization in Indonesia should be presented.

4. For a social/family visit, enclose a sponsorship or invitation letter from the sponsor or family member and copy of their ID card.

5 . 2 (two) photos.

6. Enclose a A$60,- fee. Payment should be made by Money Order / Company Cheque / EFTPOS,MASTERCARD/VISA,NO PERSONAL CHEQUE as we do not accept cash payments.

Process may take up to 5 business days once all the requirements are completed and cleared.

For applications submitted via Airmail, a prepaid return registered envelope should be enclosed.

For applications submitted via courier, the applicant should arrange courier pickup prior to collection.

Visa should be used for initial entry within 3 months from date of issue.

The visa is valid for 60 days calculated from the day of entry into Indonesia. If you wish to stay longer than 60 days, the visa can be extended at the local immigration office a total of 4 times, with extension valid for 30 days. This means that maximum period you can stay in Indonesia is 180 days.

This visa can be used for visiting purposes, including tourist, social culture, family visit, mutual co-operation between the Indonesian Government and foreign authorities, educational, expertise exchanging program, business meetings, goods and services transactions, business-oriented quality control, attending or organizing an exhibition, locating film sites or preparation and business meetings. The visit purposes listed above are subject to approval from the competent authorities"
