On a recent visa run to singapore I bought 2 kilo's of rock salt... thought i would preseve some lemons...
On my way through to customs after my bag had been x rayed a man came running after me...STOP.. STOP.. he demanded i open my bag.. which also contained a potato masher..[ yes i know bizarre shopping}oh i thought he want to see my masher.. not thinking about 2 kilo of white crystals laying in the bottom of my bag... presented masher and tried to explain its use.. no no more more.. so started empting bag.. ah ha discovered salt... he demanded i open bags that were clearly marked as salt.. and started pouring it into his hand , yup it was then i realised this could look awfully suspicious.. Oh my god !!!!! this is not drugs i tried frantically to explain .. This is for cooking... please try it .. see for your self.. and thank fully he did.. and laughed... I was very relieved and he was left dry retching... and now am much more careful about bizarre shopping.. except the english mustard incident in jakarta .. whole other story..
