Day 2 / 16th - Breakfast, then walk, walk, walk. finally found "Leon" the tailor in Legian for a long winter coat to be made, and "Casey" for boots for Jan & Judy, noticed it wasn't as hot as previous trips for this time of the year, nor as humid. Lunch and Bintang or two at the relocated "Indonational Restaurant" owned by an Aussie, one of the better "Cold Bintang" places. bought some essentials then back for a few hours around the pool.
Day 3 - 17th - after breakfast we all cabbed it to Candy's for the girls to be fitted for boots, then taxi back to KP. more pool time, Tony an old friend we met when staying at the "Rama Beach Cottages" in Tuban, (he was one of the guys serving drinks and food around the pool), called in to see us. We cabbed back to "Centro Mall" for some serious shopping and Matahari in Kuta Sq. the girls got some great bargains at a few stores, then a late lunch at "Warung Batan" on JL Kartika Plaza (next to "Bali Garden Hotel"). lovely place, great food!
Day 4 - 18th. We got our old faithful driver "Wayan" from Sanur to pick us up and take us back to Sanur to catch up with old friends. He is a lovely old man who never rips you off, in fact he asks what you think is a fair price, we always pay him more than what we agree on. It was a sad day in parts as we caught up finally with Ketut at "Tootsie" shop. She explained what had happened to her husband a few weeks prior after a heart attack and dying whilst fishing. I have mentioned her plight last week (28th May) on this forum and I am sure all will support her, who have grown to love her and visit her on regular occasions. As usual we bought piles from her and ate at "Tootsie" restaurant, also caught up with our old faithfuls at Sindhu Beach Markets, Ronnie for watches and jewelry, Louisa for clothes. Wayan dropped us back, total cost for the day Rp 200,000. That night we found a great litte restaurant just down from the hotel entrance called "Waroeng Tropicale" - the girls were friendly, good music, dancing and easy to stagger back to the KP, the food quite good and reasonable price and the Bintang - Bloody Cold !
