We see repeatedly postings which mention looking at apartments and villas to find options cheaper than hotels, and they mean standard hotel rooms -- not large suites in luxury resorts.

Why should that be? Any apartment offers you much more space and better facilities than a hotel room, and when you talk "villa", you have even more space and usually two to four or six bedrooms, a living % dining room, full kitchen, a garden with private swimming pool, and normally your private Chef, trained personal butler, maids, house boys, laundress, gardeners, security staff and often even spa therapists and a car with a reliable driver as part of the package.

If this is not the case, please do not call it a "villa". It is very confusing that nowadays in Bali everything from no-star hotels upwards is called "villa". Many of these shacks were called cottages just a few years ago and used to be priced cheaper (with good reason) than a decent hotel room.

Therefore, before you commit to rent and pay for a "villa", make sure you know what you get and what is included in the rate.

Also, double-check the party you place your booking with! To avoid any risk making bookings over the Internet (in Bali or anywhere else), please follow the link below.
