As you are discussing borer in this thread I will add this story... 4 years ago I bought one of those inexpensive Indoneasian buffets from one of the Classique furniture stores here in Perth. Last year, 3 years after purchase I noticed some small holes that showed signs of active borer. the AQUIS guys came out, sampled the borer and identified it. The whole cabinet had to be wrapped in plastic and transported to a fumigation place in Fremantle. It only cost $70 to gas it and then I got it back. The thing is, the eggs can be dormant for a long time. It was only the second time this type of borer had been found in Perth apparently. I check everything thoroughly now on a regular basis.
