or not often depends on which customs officer inspects them. We recently had some wooden windchimes confiscated on the way through Perth airport because of the product used in the weave on the top of the chimes. The officer we had didn't want to let us keep them so she asked a supervisor who said they were ok. Our girl wasn't happy with that response so she asked someone else who said if she had doubts then she should confiscate them. So she did! We had sprayed them ourselves and made sure there were no incriminating bugs or other bits and pieces likely to fall out but nothing was going to save our chimes.
