You can walk out to the seafront, and turn left and walk past the entrance to Kuta square down to Bemo corner, which is the extreme southern end of Legian St.
Or, you can turn right, and then right again at the statue before McDonalds down Poppies lane 1, and then wander through to Legian St.
Whichever you way you go it is an easy 10 min walk.
