Hi Everyone
Here is Komang Adi's address: Br. Tangsub Celuk. (0361) 298236. Great prices. When you walk in you will see the counters around the wall but you will also notice the glass cupboards in the middle of the room. These glass cupbaords have bag fulls of jewellery in them and for many years we thought they were only for wholesale purchases, but last year found out you look through the bag and if you want one or several pieces you just take the bag to the counter and the girls get you one out, nothing has prices on but you just ask and after a few you stop asking as its all so cheap.
Bought some more glassess from Honeyman, my third lot from him. This time bought one pair of Transitional glasses for 800,000rp and a pair of prescription sunglassess for 600,000rp. He has a new assistant and he brought them to our hotel the next day, great way to do business, sitting at our hotel on the 2nd last day and first the glasses are delivered, then some bracelets and then our DVD seller turns up with DVD's, lighters and a lovely present for me of some black Lombok pearls, they are beautiful.
Had a few times when we had to seek medical help but all of them were on lembongan so we lined up with the locals at Nyeomans clinic. On Lembongan there is a clinic and Nyeoman works there during the day, she is a midwife. When she finishes she goes home and holds a clinic in the afternoon for a few hours. First trip was with our friends Daughter for a urinary track infection- Nyeoman palpated her tummy and back and agreed with our diagnisis- Antibiotics were dispensed along with some chinese medicine to alkaline the urine- 150,000rp. Next trip was myself for a couple of infected mossies bites, anitbiotics dispensed at 50,000rp. Then sons turn for some infected cuts and more antibiotics, his got better and then became a little worse so back again and some antibiotic cream did the job.
And on our friends last day at Lembongan the surf was big and they all decided to go surfing at Playgrounds, Playgrounds lived up to its nice name and they broke 2 boards, and then our friend caught his shin on the boat as he got in and split it open, Rang Nyeoman and she came home from the hospital and he needed 3 stitches and another course of antibiotics and some pain killers- 150,000rp. Wound healed well and she did a great job as usual. We do have travel insaurance but obviously these amounts are so small not able to claim (not that you would want to for small amounts like that)
One night we were walking home late along the back road following a few late night games of pool and Bintangs and the next morning at 8am our friend couldn't find his wallet, it had about 4 million in it so he retraced his steps from the previous night and found it still lying at the side of the road. How lucky! Then the guy who collects the bets for the illegal numbers game that the Balinese play arrived, we asked what was the number for wallet (all the numbers have things linked to them) 62 we were told so I made our friend bet on that number and wouldn't you know it he won 600,000rp for a 5,000rp bet!
