sometimes can blind us from the true picture.I don't mean to offend but I think you were rude too.I know you were angry and upset and I understand.
I saw red a few weeks after the bombings when I was at the site of the sari club and some guy was hassling me to go look at his shop, business bad with the bomb. I was so cross. I think I may have unintentionally been rude to him.

I think sometimes we can't all be perfect and we unintentionally cause other people to be upset. My man was just trying to make a living and he didn't recognise that I was paying my respects.

The photo smiley people don't mean any harm I am sure and Muslims were killed in the bombings who were just going about their daily business. Maybe these ladies knew some of them. Also it was us lot who wanted the memorial, the Balinese attitude is quite different isn't it ?

The bombings are still very raw wounds and as someone else said if you saw someone smiling at a war memorial somewhere you wouldn't feel the same. I have photos of all my family smiling at the base of one particular war memorial. I am certainly not disrespectful of the fallen in battle, quite the contrary.
