Actually we were told that it also had something to do with how the tables were programmed into their computer system...at least they are consistent on that front!
We arrived at 700PM for our reservation (and they had stressed on the phone that if we were late by 10 minutes they would give our table away) they said that our table was not ready and suggested that we sit in the 'lounge' for a drink. Being that everyone has rushed getting there on time we were a bit ticked that they did this. When they finally did show us to our table, the place was empty so we couldn't understand what the delay was. I asked them right then about separate bills (or at least 3-4 bills for the 16 of us) and was told, no way. I've never been back since as I know there are so many other fabulous restaurants to be enjoyed in Bali that understand customer service better.
I know alot of people like this restaurant but maybe they aren't asking for separate bills.
