Depressed! Just returned from our holiday after 10 years and why did we leave it so long. Flew direct from Adelaide with Virgin without a hitch and through Bali and VOA within half an hour. Stayed at the Ramada Bintang and cant speak highly enough of the resort. Friendly, considerate and could not do enough for us, pool the best! We headed out to do some early shopping and in hinesight would not shop for a day or so again until tuned into the money thing, couldnt wait and paid way too much for a few items, but never the less a great couple of hours exploring, we went down to Melasti markets and legian Street which had a huge range and seemed a little more friendlier than Kuta. Found a great lady that made up queen quilts and pillows all double stitched (in Legain for aus $40 each). (monica's home collections). Bubba Gump is a must to take the kids, food ok, but the staff are quite funny and make sure to buy a Margarhita for mum! you will be amazed at what happens. All the staff sing and bring the pots and pans as instruments. Indo national has great food especially if the kids want a snack (hotdogs etc) and a cool guy comes to your table with countless DVD's to ponder over, good quality also. Make sure you buy a bottle of Paramau root oil (about $13 a bottle, great for all ailments, back headache, and enjoy a free mini massage demo while there. this stuff is wonderful. A couple of doors down a new restaurant, Mozzarella is nice too. Majolys, possibly the best baramundi I have ever had. Safari and Marine park was great and recommend the Elephant ride as well. Blue meter taxis were the best but they did tell us that they were very quiet and a few times took the scenic route that went forever, but didnt mind. The week went far too quick and the only downside was waiting an extra 2 hours for the flight home, and at 2.30am wasnt pleasant. Back next year again!
