Seminyak for dinner

Hi,

I stay in the Kuta area and don't normally travel to Seminyak for dinner, we use closer restaurants. This time I'm going to venture upwards as some of the restaurants sound great. The traffic gets so bad around dinner time what do you recommend as we will have to get a taxi. Is there a better time to go e.g. a bit earlier etc? Should be book restaurants in advance?
