Ive just returned from the Kumala. I booked for November and April 2010 and had difficulty getting my prefered rooms. I too had delays with emails in the past. Your best bet would be to call them direct. Even if they are full for February ask to be put on request.
The Kumala will let you book as many rooms as you like. If you cancel any or all of your rooms before 7 days there is NO CHARGE !!! So what's stopping a wholesaler from booking out most of the hotel, then cancelling what they havent sold ???
