Alcohol quantity into Bali (yes, again!)

I know the rules back to front, 1 litre per person, etc. and when travelling as a pair they combine it into 2 litres. Has anyone successfully managed to squeeze 3 X 750 ml bottles (2,250 ml) in within the 2 litre allowance?
