We arrived back last weekend and I am just getting time now to write
I have been to Bali 6 time the first was in 1979 this trip provided us with a new look as we had not been for 10 years there have been many change over the last 30 years
We had a great 8 days at Puri Raja this is a beautiful place to stay great rooms excellent staff and a fantastic breakfast the whole experience was wonderful
We then moved to MBR in a standard room the next day we upgraded to superior as we found the standard rooms to be dark ,,dank noisy and the air cons were not very good
Over all the mbr is okay but I feel it really needs some upgrading, my opinion only
The first time I went to bali stayed in a small losmen and a lovely Balinese lady would come by each day to sell her wares I became ill while there and she came everyday with fresh fruit and helped me when I left as I was to ill to even pack my bags . So every time I return I find her .She keep our photos on her wall . She has a small shop in legian markets down near the beach end.It is called Ayu shop melasti art market blok 31 Her shop is tucked in to a back area and they don't get a lot of passing trade I brought a lot from her and gave her many gifts of clothes jewellery perfume etc Her husband died and she is getting older it was great to provide her with extra money and business. No haggling just good fair prices
The other place we did most of our shopping for clothes was in poppies II around the corner from the bounty heading toward the beach on the left hand side there is a lady named Rani my son meet her last Dec and she is also great no haggling cheap prices good quality tell her Jack sent you and you will also have your purchases made easily .
I am adding this info thinking that it is important that the little shop owners get a looking when buying things rather that some of the place that get mentioned all the time again just my opinion
Through a friend we were fortunate to have a great /safe driver He and his Nephew have a modest little company they are very reliable and honest and friendly were we invited to

I ordered DVD on line from H he delivered them to the hotel they all seem to be in good order , We did buy some from a shop opposite the indonational rest and also some from a
Shop ii jl werkudara next to the Kodak money change don't buy from here the dvds were bad quality luck we only go a couple
I went to Ms Pak at the bali Rani and she made three bangles solid silver and a a ring from my silver fro $60 aus so I please with these as they turned out great she seems like a nice lady and returned the silver they did not use
While in bali we got 7995 for $1 for first few days then hovered around 7600
Weather was great rained one night heavy but that was about it .
We ate at La monde, indonational and meet the owner Milton seaside, Blue Ocean, parasol and many other places. While hanging out at poppies II so y son could catch up with friends we ate and drank at the Rainbow Café nyoman is great and the good and atmosphere is wonderful
We went to the safari marine park and had a great day a first I thought that it might be true that the animals are drugged until we went down in the water park and encountered a beautiful cheetah which was a bit fired up My husband decide to have his photo take here the trainer had to calm down the cheetah first as it was mouthing his arm (the trainer)
with its teeth I think some of the other animal were just hot and sleepy from the sun he Elephants were great and we got to go on stage at the end of the show to pat them and get photos . We also meet Brownie the orang-utan so cute great photos
My hubby and Son surfed every day either at medowi , chungu, kuta reef etc they had pretty good waves
the Bali bug bit me 30 years ago and it is still there as strong as ever I can't wait till next time hopefully sooner than later
