We stay at Novotel which is two doors down from the Aston. You are spoilt with a choice of good restaurants on your doorstep. Walk down to the Novotel and back toward the Aston you have, Mini Restuarant,La Mer,Pavilions 2,Che che's, Sea Queen, Casablanca and Cas Mia. Up from there is a restaurant with an small imitation of the Opera House sails on the top, can't remember the name but that is not important as we have been disapointed twice. Next door to Sea Queen is Lily's shop, she won't rip you off and usually has a good exchange rate. Don't get sucked in by the higher rate advertised down the side from her or you will be ripped off. If you are an early riser and like to walk, go past the Novotel toward Tanjung, turn left at the no entry signs follow the road round to the right and you will find the traditional market, the atmosphere is terrific and you will be the only white folks there. Interesting that in Tanjung there is a Catholic Church, Budhist Temple, Hindu Temple and Muslim Mosque question is . If they can all live in peace and harmony there, what's wrong with the rest of the world ? Ask at the Aston if they will cook fish for you as you will not buy it fresher or cheaper anywhere. From the Aston there is a walkway along the beach that goes all the way into the back of the Bali Collection. If you are not walkers there is a complimentary shuttle bus from the Aston to the Collection at 20 past the hour. Last bus back is 10pm. Be warned though, meals at Collection are a bit pricey. If you want a real good feed phone Tropical Restaurant next to the traffic lights just outside the Nusa Dua gates, they will collect and return you.If you want a driver Made Arsana is on the doorstep and works out of the Grand Mirage 081337782754.His wife will do your laundry too.If you want to hire a scooter he will fix it but the rates in Tanjung are a bit higher than Kuta at 50,000 a day. You can get much cheaper around Kuta. On the beach outside the Aston, more water sports than you can shake a stick at. If you get bored with your location go have a day at the lovely Geger Beach where you won't get hassled for anything, fifteen minutes away from you by cab. Anything else Chez ?
