We stayed at the old Bali Hai two years ago.
We returned this year (just back a few days ago). Whilst we did not stay in Tuban, we did visit the new Holdiay Inn. Wow - they have really freshened it up. We did a tour of the property. The pool is essentially the same, although they have totally redone it. The beach at this end has been totally rebuilt and the area is looking really good. The spa area on the point was still being worked on. We were interested in this area as when we stayed their, friends of ours had the Lotus Villa on the point, but this is all gone. Interestingly enough, the area where the old beach sellers were is still there - overgrown and surrounded by currogated iron, looks terrible. Apparently this land is privately owned, and the resort wants to buy it, but the owner wants too much for it. All in all, the hotel looks very similar, just new. Really does look good. We looked at the prices, but seems very expensive. They told us 30 rooms were occupied. We were there one week after their opening.
