my 17 year old son and i often stay at the Losari in Garlic Lane it is in a good position, clean, good price, nice staff, etc.and will continue to stay there on our future trips. not a family type place so not a lot of kids running around, not a lot of aussies as it has been used often when we were there for other indonesian tour groups holidaying in Bali. They tend to get up early and noisy at brekkie which you can hear in the rooms, pool side ground floor- they are the rooms we like though. These are numbered 122 thru to 128. There are 3 rooms out the back which are quieter and have the 2nd pool here, really good spot.Room 130, 132, 134 from memory, can't go wrong with those rooms. if your friends want to pay a bit more there are 2 villa rooms with their own plunge pool, in this back area. stayed once in a villa and absolutely loved it. not like the niksoma but that is too expensive for regular trips , so the losari it will continue to be! only 4 or so years old, so not rundown. Brekkie is fine, set price lunch menu is yum and cheap. definitely make a booking here for a really good budget price place. jan
