A man in Bali tried it out on us too. He hadn't had much practice with this scam because we went to his home and he didn't know what to do with a husband, wife, son and driver. His other scammers looked pretty sullen at him bringing the lot of us along. Our driver was not a very happy camper lol. So we only got a part of the scam before it dwindled out.
My husband was approached in Kuala Lumpur. Same story but without a pic. He arranged to meet them later at same take-away place. This time he was shown a pic of the beautiful lonely sister at uni in Australia, and invited home as their driver was parked just around the corner. He didn't go.
