Just received a reply to my email query from Travel Insurance Direct;
If you have not yet purchased your policy you will not be covered for cancellation/rearrangement expenses if you no longer wish to travel to an area affected by the recent outbreak of Swine Flu. If "If you travel to an area affected by the flu and contract the disease there is provision for cover for medical expenses. Please review the DFAT website before you travel www.smartraveller.gov.au for any updates. We have updated information from the insurer on our website www.tid.com.au under Important Information (located towards the bottom of the homepage). Please be advised that if the travel warning is upgraded to DO NOT TRAVEL you will not be covered for medical expenses or cancellation expenses.
