I have been to bali twice and have just booked in Patra (basic rooms) and was bit worried after reading some the forum on The Patra, so was very happy to see the positive reports. We stayed at the Bali Hai last time and were disappointed to see it had closed.
I am always cautious about eating places so would love to know where to eat near The Patra. It used to be a good indication of good restaurants if there was plenty of people eating there, but since the Bali bombings there aren't as many people around.
We are not going for a while yet but got a much cheaper deal flying Malaysian airlines via Kuala Lumpur, am wondering if anyone else has gone this way and how they found Malaysian airlines.
So would appreciate it if anyone can help out with good restaurants nearby and if you have come across people in the area that could use some help as we always take clothes, make up jewellery etc. I was asked last time for old bras as well, something I hadn't thought of before.
