I think you can get so close to a community if living there for a long time but u will always be a foreiner. u must always be on your toes when buying anything outside your comfort zone because ur skin is white they will up the prices because again, you are considered a bule tourist.
maybe others will not agree with me but i have found this over the many many years of living there 6 months of the year
