My wife and I are doing what you propose.
We collected our visas this week and are off on the 1st of March for six months.
You won't know if you don't give it a go!!!
If you want to know anything specific, for example about renting your house out, what to do with your car, bills that crop up while you are away, etc, etc. Please feel free to email us. Remove the no spam bit.
