Several members of our group did the cooking class a few years back at Tegal Sari and loved it.
The only problem you may come across is they need a minimum of I think 4 for a class.
If you havn't got 4 to do a class they will ask you if you would like to do the class with the restaurant next door to the hotel which I believe is great as well. The restaurant is the Warung Enak. Cheers Tinggading
