I read on the forum a while back that the legal age in Bali to purchase alcohol is 16yrs. You may want to check the forum archives to find this info. There doesnt seem to be a legal age to drink alcohol though. This being the case they would prob get through with it however the air side of an airport is "no-mans-land" and they do what they want. My son went to bali last dec/jan and was a month off his 18th. He didnt buy and duty free but made up for it after!!!
