Tell your daughter to go to one of the Kodak shops along JL Kartika to do her money changing, or go to the one next to Matahari in Kuta Square - its a small cubicle type one. The best one we go to is on JL Legian just a couple of steps away from Bemo corner.
Stadium is practically opposite Kuta Paradiso and is a good place to eat and has very reasonably priced food (and all kinds of it), also tell her to try Kafe Batan Waru (next to Discovery Mall)and IFiori which is opposite Discovery Mall. There is a nice cafe opposite Bread Talk (in Discovery Mall) that does really nice salad rolls etc, so for something light that is definitely a goer.
We stayed at the Kuta Paradiso a few years ago. Its a nice hotel. The pool is a bit weird as it sort of has 3 different levels, but it was never busy around the pool. It seems to be a hotel popular with the Koreans, Japanese, Chinese etc, so that is probably why the pool is not as occupied as they do a lot of tours away from the hotel. If she is not happy with her room, tell her to go straight back to Reception and tell them she wants to move to a better room. The food was lovely at the hotel, so no probs there.
