I searched and thought about if for a long time and then decided against even villas with pool fences and have decided on two interconnecting groundfloor rooms in a resort instead. One day we will def love to try the secluded villa with pool type holiday but for now don't think I would ever feel comfortable with a pool just steps away from our living/sleeping area with young children (next trip in May they will be 1 & 4years old) we also like to use a babysitter and I just know I would never relax having the kids babysat and worrying about the water pool fence or not!! We did stay in a very affordable villa last Oct/Nov in Legian called Resort Tunjung Bali..they had 1xbedroom villas which had the bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a big open living area with small kitchen downstairs lots of room to relax downstairs while little one is upstairs sleeping of an evening etc and a pool in the main complex but the stairs leading upto the bedroom were pretty steep and weren't really childfriendly either but everyone has different comfort levels when it comes to their kids and what they are used too. Send me an email have left mine open and I will send you pics through of pool fences and see if I can think of any other suggestions .. depends on your budget, area etc : )
