I first went to Bali in 1975 on a 1 month "easy rider" package. My friend Cathy and I stayed at Aquarius Star Hotel in Kuta. We walked through coconut groves and cows to get to the beach which still had coconut palms lining it. We went to Tanah Lot, Uluwatu and all the other tourist spots that are still popular today.We cried all the way home on our Pan Am flight.
I didnt return to Bali until 1987 when I went for my tenth wedding anniversary.In 1989 we took our 3 girls then aged 6, 9, 11 to Bali. They loved it as much as as we did.They danced at Cock and Bull and visited all the tourists spots that Cathy and I did on our first visit.They have all been back many times since then.
I have returned to Bali 16 times since that first trip. Last year I returned with Tim, my new man, and he proposed in the surf at Kuta.
On May 1st, on my 17th visit and Tim's 2nd we will be married at Bali Garden Hotel.It will be great to introduce family and friends to Bali for the first time. I hope they will love it as much as we do.
I always say that that first trip to Bali ruined my life as I have thought of nothing else for the last 34 years! The first maybe 6 or 7 times I went I always cried when I left but I now know I will always return. Help I'm an addict can anyone out there help me???
