JBR.Travelled with my 2 kids, wife, mother in-law and wifes grandmother. In Bali from 27th Feb to 20th March. All good. Did monkey forest, Safari Park, Reptile and Bird Park, Tanah Lot, Cultural Park (GWK), Waterbom, Denpasar markets and god knows what else. No disappointments in any of the trips.
Kuta Lagoon Resort was great in the pool access rooms and the staff were perfect. Pool attendant, Martin, was a good talker and a highlight of the morning cigarette on the pool verandah.
The food was great and the pick of the places would have to be Sheppys on Jl. Melasti. Our 9 year old son was stoked with the chicken Parmy and the staff were more than good, they were excellent. Staff that are happy and friendly, as well as good at what they do, are a refreshing change from the normal restaurant experience in Oz. We also ate at Uncle Norms and the Bali Beach Shack which were very good as well. Bali Beach Shack had great entertainment with the band involving all of the diners at every oppotunity. Tried to eat the food at yuts but was not worth the taxi fare.
Sammy-Suzy Beach Bar was our choice for afternoon Bintang and we were not disappointed with any part of it. The hosts are great people and the entertainment(?) by Charlie Tango was fun. Baliboy for watches, Eddie for henna and Alex for Sunnies made it so easy to spend money.None of the above are pushy or annoying, good prices and nice people. Met Smudge on the beach and will be sending supplies for the work he does for villages at the earliest opportunity.
Used Crocodile for transport and was more than happy, good bloke and can supply mobile number if anyone needs it.
Lots of swimming and shopping, close to everything (around 20,000-30,000rp to get to Matahari,Geneva,Centro etc.)
All up it was the best holiday I have had. Would go back tomorrow to the same place with the same people and do the same things again.
